- Holistic stress management tools are integral to the design of our facility so that each dog can relax and enjoy their stay.
- We limit the number of dogs we board to ensure that boarding suites are large enough to offer a safe, secure, and comfortable stay for each dog.
- We limit the number of dogs that can participate in our daycare program to ensure that we offer adequate play area space and individual attention for each dog.
- Every policy and procedure used in our facility defines how it enriches the lives of the pets we care for.
- Staff members articulate every day how they have enriched the life of a dog, keeping our mission alive and present on a daily basis.
Where It All Began
Meet Elaine O’Connor, the driving force behind PV Bark. Elaine and her husband, Mike, moved to the Quad Cities from Texas into a home that never had air conditioning. That first summer was enough to convince them to splurge on central air. However, to do so required that not only the breaker box be upgraded but the actual electrical service to the house had to be upgraded too. That meant one full week of utility workers, electricians, and HVAC technicians coming and going through the entire house and yard. Which led to one huge problem — where were their two beloved dogs, Bran and Coco, going to spend that week? Elaine contacted local pet care facilities and was told there was simply no room at the inn — they were full and to try back again in twelve weeks. Twelve! What followed was a frantic scramble to line up friends, neighbors, and anyone willing to host Bran and Coco for each of those days. This was Elaine’s first introduction to the lack of pet care in the Quad Cities. From this experience was born the desire to provide local area pet parents with the high quality of pet care that their dogs deserve.
